Water Whispers: Mill Days in Slunj
When water whispers, mills and riverside stories come alive.
On September 20, 2025, the old mills, courtyards, and hearts of Rastoke will open. Meet the millers, listen to the legends whispered by the waterfalls, and enjoy a rich, free program for all generations.
Experience the murmur of water, the sound of the mill wheel, and the aroma of freshly baked bread. Spend the day with millers, craftsmen, and artists who preserve the tradition of the Slunj region.
Enjoy bike tours, workshops, concerts, and guided walks along the waterfalls that tell their own stories.

Don’t miss the free guided walking tour that takes you through mills and courtyards, some of which are usually closed to the public.
You will be welcomed by authentic local hosts – millers who share personal stories about life by the water, milling, and family traditions.

Ride along the millers’ trails – paths where people from nearby villages once brought grains to their millers in Rastoke. Today, as in the past, these trails tell stories of community, nature, and food.
This guided electric bike tour takes you through picturesque landscapes, with a visit to OPG Rendulić and a short refreshment break. Perfect for nature lovers, cultural heritage enthusiasts, and light recreation seekers.

This unique event is initiated and organized by the Slunj Tourist Board, in cooperation with local partners, aiming to preserve tradition and promote cultural heritage.
