‘Slunjčica protected landscape’

The ‘Slunjčica Protected Landscape’ territory, a part of the NATURA 2000 ecological network of international significance, is a preserved natural area in which the way of life and the use of natural goods make a unique phenomenon with man and nature cohabitating. The area is a recognisable whole of important historic, cultural and social values, and, as such, it leads in the sustainable development in the wider area of Slunj. It obeys sustainable development principles with the aim of harmonising the needs to protect the existing plant and animal species and various habitats in the area. The action moto of NATURE 2000 is ‘People and Nature, not Nature without People’.
