Restaurant Week for Mill Days
Autumn is in destination Slunj Rastoke. Join us at Restaurant Week running from September 19th through September 25th . The gastro event features 9 restaurants across Slunj and is a great way to try some of homemade dining places.
Tradition of milling has a long history in Slunj. First mills were mentioned in 17th centuries. Mills were usually built on waterfalls with high of 3-5 m in order to use natural power of water to running the millstones. In mill there were at leaste 2-3 mill stones, for separate grining white from black flour.
In Slunj we still made homemade flour and prepare polenta, homemade bread and proja – no yeast homemade bread preapared with 6 type of grains.
